Best Buddies International
My Best Buddies Story
I began my journey with Best Buddies as a freshman in high school in Central Massachusetts. Best Buddies is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that promotes the inclusion of those with an intellectual or developmental disability. As a Business Development officer at Algonquin Regional High School, I was given the opportunity to travel to Indiana University for the Best Buddies International Leadership Conference in 2016 and 2017. Years later, I am the President of the Bentley University Chapter, promoting friendship, leadership, and inclusion in the Boston suburbs.
Mobile App Promotion
In 2016, I worked alongside the Best Buddies Massachusetts office and the Best Buddies Headquarters in Miami to develop a promotional video for the new Best Buddies Mobile App. The app showcases the new features that help high school and college chapters continue building friendships and promoting inclusion. When developing this project, I kept in constant contact with an executive in the Miami headquarters and assured the video met Best Buddies mission and brand.
Massachusetts Friendship Walk Promotion
I had the opportunity of developing a short promotional video in conjunction with the Best Buddies Massachusetts and Rhode Office to highlight the 2017 Central MA Friendship Walk. We set up a film time to shoot small clips that were used in the production of the video. Following my filming and editing, the trailer was featured on the Best Buddies MA/RI website, Facebook Page, Instagram and shared on YouTube.
Chapter of the Year Showcase
When my High School Chapter won the 2016 Massachusetts Chapter of the Year award, I was asked to develop a video showcase of our chapter. Through this we were able to enter to be considered the International Chapter of the Year. In addition, after creating the video I received the opportunity to attend the Best Buddies International Leadership Conference in Bloomington, Indiana at Indiana University
